THE PROCLAMATION CEREMONY OF THE NEWLY ELECTED LEGISLATORS IN IGBOGBO/BAYEKU LCDA. | Shakiru Seidu. Councilor Nurudeen Alimi emerges as the House Leader.

The proclamation ceremony of the 4th legislative of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA came to the lime light on Friday 28th of July, 2017 at the Hallow Chamber inside the Council Secretariat. This kick started as the Councillor Elect from Ward C4, Matthew Arowolo gave the opening prayer.

The programme which was witnessed by political leaders at the LGA and the Wards level, saw the Clerk of the House in his welcome address pleaded for the support and loyalty of the Honourables without any prejudice.

The Executive Chairman, Comrade. Olusesan Daini expressed his satisfaction for the struggles and the victory. He admonished the Councillors to brace up and be ready to render selfless service to the people who voted them in. Hence, the Proclamation to declare the first Legislative seating of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA was made.

However, the Clerk of the House made the roll call of the Councillors Elect as follows :
Ashafa Olalekan,  Ward C1
Olowu Wasiu,  Ward C2
Nurudeen Alimi, Ward C3
Matthew K. Arowolo,  Ward C4 and
Kolejo Monsuru,  Ward C5.

Thereafter, election into various offices which was covered by Igbogbo/Baiyeku Info Magazine, was conducted and Nurudeen Alimi from Ward C3 emerged as the Leader of the House, while the Deputy House Leader was Ashafa Olalekan from Ward C1.

Immediately this was done, the Clerk relinquished his office for the elected officers to take over the legislative function. The oath of Office was made by the two House Leaders consecutively. While the Maze was officially handed over to the House Leader.

Furthermore, the election also produced Wasiu Olowu from Ward C2 as the Majority Leader in a 3 against 2 election. While Matthew Arowolo from Ward C4 emerged as the Chief Whip.

Shortly after the peaceful election, the Swearing-in of the two elected officers followed suit. This was equally followed by the acceptance speech made by the Leader of the House, Nurudeen Alimi. Thereafter, the sitting was adjourned.

"The big question is, will the elected legislators take Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA to its eldorado with their bye-laws?" This was said by one of the technocrats that witnessed the ceremony, Dr. Abiodun Abatan from LASU, but Igbogbo/Baiyeku Info Magazine will no doubt keep you abreast as things are unfolding.
