IKORODU OGA RADIO, THE UNIFYING FACTOR IN IKORODU DIVISION

Friday, 25th of November, 2016, marked another historic day in Ikorodu Division, the day that the first Online Community Radio was launched at Magrellos Event Centre, Ikorodu, a dynamic Radio Station that was inspired by the need to project Ikorodu Division and its environs to the outside world.

According to the former commissioner for information in Lagos State, Otunba Ayodele Elesho, who was also the  Chairman of the occasion, expressed his satisfaction and confidence in the ability of the founder of Ikorodu Oga Radio, Omooba Akinyemi Adepeju. He emphasized that during his days as a Commissioner in 1999 under Col. Buba Marwa's Administration, he took Radio Lagos from the valley by strategically relocating it from where it was formerly to its present location, and further established another fresh Radio Station called EKO FM, Col. Buba Marwa was the first to officially talk on the Radio station, while he (Otunba Elesho) was the second person to talk on the Radio.

The founder of Ikorodu Oga Radio, Omo'ba Akinyemi Adepeju reiterated his happiness in making this dream a reality,  which is the first online Community Radio in Nigeria. He could not conceal the support given him by the good people of Ikorodu Division as the Publisher of T&C and Owan'be Magazine, 10 years after, he thinks it's a decade to review and add another innovation which led to Ikorodu Oga Radio. He explained why there is need for Ikorodu Division to have a Radio Station owing to the fact that the population of Ikorodu Division has experienced an unprecedented growth in an aggressive manner, hence the need for a viable and sophisticated Radio Station and not just a periodic magazine to enhance an effective communication.
He further acquainted the people of his passion in ensuring that Ikorodu Division becomes a town to reckon with among the committee of divisions in Lagos State and beyond. The Radio Station is aimed to serve as veritable bridge between Ikorodu division Indigenes and residents at home and in diasporas through the provision of credible and Up-to-date news, coupled with creative and informative programmes for their listening pleasure. With Ikorodu Oga Radio, the World has truly become a Global Village to the teeming listeners.

One of the guests of honour at the programme, Hon. Babajimi Benson, Member House of Representatives, who frequently lend his support for the Youth Empowerment and Community development, reiterated his commitment in working assiduously at the National Assembly to make sure his Constituents witness the positive impact of good governance. He revealed his new sponsored Bill at the National Assembly which has gone through the first reading, the Bill which is not recognizing Lagos State alone, will also accommodate other Mega City States in Nigeria. The bill will give economic benefit to Cities that have population of over 10 million, like Anambra that has Onitsha Market with high population of creative industrious entrepreneurs. Hon.  Babajimi Benson, Member, Constitutional Review Committee,  was worried about the neglects of Federal Government on the performing States like Lagos State of ours.

For the benefit of the teeming listeners, Application for Ikorodu Oga Radio can be downloaded through Google Play Store on your phone.

HOMAT CHANGED THE FACE OF ADEBORUWA PALACE IGBOGBO

The owner of Homat Group of Schools, ALHAJI OLAWALE AMUSA, a humble and one of the highly respected personalities in Ikorodu Division have putting it upon himself to transform the Adeboruwa Palace  Igbogbo, to a befitting one.

He does this by putting the collapsed fence in order, providing a befitting Gate and also painting the whole premises in order to give a nice look to the Palace. It will however be of total injustice and inexcusable dishonesty if the philanthropical drive of ALHAJI OLAWALE AMUSA could not be mentioned.

This convinced me of his noble impact towards the economic development in Ikorodu Division. He gave employments to the youths and paid Salaries for more than 800 Staffs monthly in Ikorodu Division.
No wonder the late Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, Late Oba Dr. Johnson Olatunji Fatola, bestowed him with the title of "ATUNLUSE OF IGBOGBO KINGDOM"

He had been very supportive and investing his valuable time and money on any developmental Programmes in Igbogbo and the whole of Ikorodu Division,

Igbogbo will forever be grateful to you
A kì í dúpẹ́ lọ́wọ́ aláṣetì; aláṣeyọrí là ńkí.

Once again, Kabiyesi and the rest of us say,
THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROSITY SIR.
