THE FIRST BAALE OF OLU-ODO COMMUNITY INSTALLED

History was made when a reputable family with a prestigious nomenclature of a great track record presented its first Baale before the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom.

*Chief Basiru Majaro Disu* who happened to be the Olootu Ebi (Family Head) of the notable Olu-Odo family, was equally made as the Baale of Olu-Odo community due to his leadership qualities and uncommon mannerism of peaceful leading and chanting the course of the family. He was installed on Thursday 2nd of February, 2017, by members of Olu-Odo family.

Olu-Odo family comprises of three clans who were birthed by Oradulu, they are Odujebe, Olowojegudu and Oremeru. They settled at Olu-Odo village and were farming on the land while they go to rest at Itungodo Ward, Igbogbo, as a place to abode. The newly installed Baale originated from Odujebe clan. Some of the tittle usually conferred on Olu-Odo members are Olumale, Iware, and Ajana.

Olu-Odo community is also rich traditionally, they owns Baganju Shrine along Ikorodu road and usually observe their Oro festival every two years interval and it is only carried out in the night to offer prayers for peace and progress in the community. Interestingly, the newly crowned King of Igbogbo, HRM Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, hailed from this family with unbeatable track record. The family Secretary, Alhaji Nurudeen Olaleke Kasali Oremeru explained.

The Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, HRM Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, was delighted to have made yet a new history as he officially installed Chief Basiru Majaro Disu as Baale of Olu-Odo on Saturday, 4th of February, 2017. Kabiyesi could not hide his excitement due to the fact that Chief Basiru Majaro Disu would be the first Baale to be installed after he ascended the throne of his forefathers.

Furthermore, the traditional rites for the installation of new Baale were done accordingly including the "Owo Origba". When addressing the audience, Chief Tajudeen Onasanya, the Odofin of Igbogbo, sued for love and peaceful coexistence among the families in Igbogbo Kingdom by emulating the prestigious Olu-Odo family.

The occasion which was graced by men and women of notable status didn't come to an end without entertaining the guests at Olu-Odo multi-million naira Palace in Igbogbo.
