INSTALLATION OF ADEBORUWA: OBA KASALI COMPLETES HIS TRADITIONAL RITES AT IGBOGBO NIGHT MARKET

Barely three months after His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali was crowned as the new Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, he ended the traditional rites at the popular Night Market, Igbogbo, on Sunday, February 4, 2017.

According to the Yoruba tradition, it is mandatory for Kabiyesi or any Palace Chiefs to complete his/her Iwuye ceremony (Coronation) at the Market Square. This played out as HRM Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali visited the market to validate his position as the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom.

The ceremony which commenced at the Palace of Adeboruwa of Igbogbo saw the head of "Gbaraa group", Chief Laribigbe Ogunyemi, the Iware of Meri, Igbogbo and his team, entertaining the King, Chiefs, Ijaolu family and other well wishers with melodious Apepe music, after which Kabiyesi was accompanied to the night market.

In the presence of the unimaginable crowd that gathered at the market square to witness the proceedings, the market women, led by Iyaloja of Igbogbo community, Chief Mrs Rachel Obayomi, received Kabiyesi and his amiable wife, Olori Sekinat Kasali, after which Kabiyesi danced and prayed for  the people of Igbogbo and the community.
