IRE-AKINDANA CDA HOLDS A HISTORIC ANNUAL GEN. MEETING WITH MERIT AWARD CEREMONY | Shakiru Seidu

Saturday 25th of March was a remarkable day that will not be forgotten at Ire-Akindana CDA as they had their 3rd annual general meeting and maiden merit award ceremony at the permanent site of the CDA in Ire Community Igbogbo.

The event started on a prayer note where the Chief Imam of Ire-Akindana, Alhaji Rasak Aliu committed the programme into God's hand. After introducing the people to the high table, the HOD Agric, Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, Mrs Oshodi who was ably represented by Mrs Shaanu, advised the CDA to keep the good momentum and express love to each other.

The women's rights activist, Alhaji Lateef Akinbode advised the women to be focused and know their fundamental rights when it comes to domestic violence.

Alhaji Lateef further warned parents not to infringe on child's right of going to school, he advised to be security conscious and offered a free consultancy whenever the need arises.

However, the CDC Chairman, Mr Olowu therefore urged the executive to cultivate the spirit of love and understanding among themselves. He further advised the Exco to ensure proper accountability of every penny and the regular dues to local council and state government must be adequately observed.

The Chairman, Ire-Akindana, Alhaji Azeez Jamiu appreciated the guests for making it to the event despite their tight schedule. Nevertheless, He thanked the entire executive members for the support given to him to achieve success in his tenure.

The Auditor gave the detail report of the CDA's financial status and its previous transactions which was widely accepted by the CDA.

The CDA however honoured some members who had worked tirelessly to move the community forward. The Awardees were, Mr David Komolafe, Mr Bisiriyu Fatai, Alhaji Adeloja W.O, Chief Osunde Alex, Mr Folikpo Samuel and a post humus award to Late Kolawole Badmus, late I. Elijah, among others.
