A BUILDING OF SIX CLASSROOMS BLOCK WAS BIRTHED AT LAJO COMMUNITY, IGBOGBO. | Shakiru Seidu ....Oba Kasali, Adebimpe Akinsola, Babajimi Benson, Others, contributed immensely

"The best preparation for tomorrow is doing your best today" This was displayed by the Lajo Community Development Association when it laid the foundation for a block of six Classrooms at Lajo community to alleviate the plight the children who lacked the access to public school in that community.

The event which took place at the permanent site of Lajo community secondary school on Saturday, 1st of April, 2017. The occasion kick-started with the opening prayer offered by the Chief Imam Lajo Community, Alhaji Gafar Ogunmuyiwa before the introduction of the guests to the high table.

The Chief Host, Chief Dr. Waliu Oduntan, in his welcome address, expressed his enthusiasm and thanked Oba Kasali, Hon. Adebimpe Akinsola and Hon. Babajimi Benson, MHR, for the support bestowed on him to make the day a reality.

After an educating drama and cultural dance displayed by the students of Lajo Community Secondary School, the Tutor General/Permanent Secretary, Education District II, Mr Gbemi Yinka Olawuyi, who was ably represented by Mr Mustapha Ibrahim Akanni, lauded the initiator of the historical project. He therefore strongly appealed to the well meaning citizens that the clarion call was a noble to rally round the initiators of the project and to graciously bolster them with moral and financial support to succeed.

However, the Chairman Lajo CDA, Alhaji Kudus Oduntan thanked everybody and revealed the challenges facing the community. According to him, "The nearest school available for our children are about 5 kilometres away, and it takes an average of N500 or more for a child to go to school, not minding the security challenges and the fear of being kidnapped." He humbly submitted.

In the same vein, the Sole Administrator, Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, Mrs Bolanle Basorun, who was represented by the Assistant HOD Agric, Mrs M.B Balogun asked the Lajo CDA to liaise with the Council management to enable them actualize the vision of the new Secondary School.

HRM Oba Abdulsemiu Orimadegun Kasali, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, applauded the CDA on the school project, and was highly impressed by the performance of the students. He thanked the Baale of Lajo community for making him proud and promised to be available at every needed period.

The Chief launcher, Hon Babajimi Benson, MHR, who was unavoidably absent due to an official assignment but sent a powerful delegates led by Mr Adebayo Oteju. He expressed happiness with the level of development in Lajo, apart from donating robustly to the foundation of the Six Classrooms Block, he further promised to be supportive till the whole project is completed. JB who had been contributing to the development of Lajo Primary School and making their road motorable, assured the community never to stop his  magnanimity.

The former House member at the State Assembly and also the Ag. Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Hon Mrs Adebimpe Akinsola, congratulates Kabiyesi, Oba Kasali, Chiefs and the Baale of lajo, Chief Oduntan for the great developmental work going on in Lajo community. She advised the students never to hide their talent and implored the parents to take the education of their children as major priority. In the same vein she promised to work together with the community to complete the project.

Hon Akinsola however thanked the people of Ikorodu Division for the support bestowed on the governor of Lagos State, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode. She revealed that the governor is working assiduously to make life better for the people of Ikorodu Division and Lagos State at large.

HRM Oba Kasali accompanied with his Chiefs, CDA and members of the high table to lay the foundation of the six Classrooms Block.

Adebimpe Akinsola, Member, House of Representatives, Hon. Babajimi Benson, Sole Administrator, Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, Mrs Bolanle Basorun, represented by Assistant HOD Agric, Mrs M.B. Balogun, Tutor General, Education District II, Mr Gbemi Yinka Olawuyi, also represented by Mr Mustapha Ibrahim, the father of the day, Mr Asimiu Tijani and Engr. Lateef Oduntan.

Others were Engr. Agoro, Daini Olusesan, Alhaji W.A. Yusuf, Adewale Bolowotan, Hon. Iyabo Salisu, Mr Alejo, Council of Baales, heads of Odubajo, Efulashe, Poiki, Ifeleja, Asewiyan, Fona/Ajayi, Jagbe/Etiku, among others.
