A TEAM OF JOURNALISTS FROM IKORODU DIVISION ENGAGED HON. ADEBIMPE AKINSOLA IN A MEDIA CHAT | Shakiru Seidu Ikorodu Division will also play host to Regatta on April 16. -Hon. Akinsola

On Friday, 7th of April, 2017, the office of Hon. Mrs Adebimpe Akinsola, Ag. Commissioner and Special Adviser, Tourism, Arts and Culture, hosted a league of Journalists from Ikorodu Division.

The interview session began as the meticulous and  charismatic Hon. Adebimpe Akinsola appreciates the effortless service of the journalists in the community reporting and affirmed her support on the trend.

The honourable, who  is known for her eloquent and oratory style of simplifying issues, emphasised that the ministry of Tourism, Art and Culture is saddled with the responsibility of promoting Tourism in Lagos State and to sensitize other recreational Centres, Music and Entertainment industry to ensure good moral in our society which will automatically ostracise moral decadence.

However, she was asked by Kunle Adelabu (Impact Newspaper) of what she was doing to accommodate monumental project in Ikorodu Division. The Honourable replied that the monument must be birthed by the community and expects all and sundry in Ikorodu Division to be proactive. She intimated the journalists with the summit she had with the traditional rulers in Ikorodu Division. While on this, she appreciates the courage of Hon. S.O.B. Agunbiade and IREP for their initiative of "ASA" in Ikorodu Division.

Furthermore, Mr. Shakiru Seidu (Igbogbo/Bayeku Info Magazine) asked Hon. Adebimpe Akinsola on what her Ministry is doing to make Ikorodu Division as a Centre for Tourism knowing fully the influx of people from all works of life into Ikorodu Division.

Hon Akinsola did not hesitate to affirmed that her ministry and the government of Lagos State is working assiduously to place not only Ikorodu Division but Lagos State as a roadmap such that all Divisions in Lagos State are included in the State of our dream. She reiterated the edifice and recreational project works such as Eko Atlantic, Art Theatre, Shopping Mall, Stadium and a host of others which will boost the economy of Lagos State as well.

She equally ascertained that the projects are achievable and visible because of the government of inclusion of our vibrant and articulate Governor Akinwunmi Ambode.

She called the attention of the journalists present to the just concluded One Lagos Fiesta which was also put a stop to the incessant killings that were rampant at Street jamz in the street of Lagos. The fiesta was organised to engage and discover talented youth.

Basically, in respect of the Lagos @ 50, Mr. Shakiru Seidu specifically asked the Ag. Commissioner that, "Lagos @ 50 is around the corner, what benefit is attached to it and how can it boost the morale and the economy of Lagos State?"

The smile on the face of the Honourable was that of a newly wedded bride. She rolled out the plan for the celebration which will commence on the 8th of May, 2017. The event is set to last for 50 days of inspiring and entertaining events for all and sundry in the five Divisions of Lagos State and all over the world.

She cleared the coast on the issue of Ikorodu exclusion from Lagos @ 50 developmental plan that such is not true. It was established that Boat Regatta event will now take place at Badagry, Lagos Island, Epe and Ikorodu Division.

Nevertheless, she candidly brought to the knowledge of the Journalist her effort to bring a monumental Statue to Ikorodu Division out of the 19 of such to be erected at different strategic places in Lagos State, the Statue had been placed at Ebute/Ipakodo.

She equally revealed to us many developmental plans that Gov. Ambode is having for Ikorodu Division and urged the people of Ikorodu Division to assist the government of Lagos State to achieve all these.
