Action speaks louder than words they say as his Royal Majesty, Oba Abdulsemiu Orimadegun Kasali, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, convened an unparreled meeting of party big wigs within Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA to entrench unity of purpose before, during and after the Local government election.
The occasion was declared officially opened as the CAN president Igbogbo Chapter, Pastor O.B. Alokan gave the opening prayer alongside with Alhaji Olubodun, the IMCO Chairman, Igbogbo. The introduction of the Palace Chiefs was done by Otunba Lanre Obayomi while the introduction of the Party Chieftains there present was anchored by Mr Kunle Odumade.
However, the ever dynamic High Chief Tajudeen Onasanya, the Odofin of Igbogbo appreciated all the Party Stalwarts and Leaders for honouring the clarion call of His Royal Majesty. He sues for violence free election at this crucial moment of repositioning Igbogbo Kingdom.
He further appealed to the party representatives to embrace unity in the best interest of all and sundry. While emphasizing on the unity of purpose, he solicited for the youth's support towards their leaders at various levels while the leaders were charged to reciprocate such gesture.
Furthermore, Party Chieftain, Prince Akeem Awosanya of PDP emphasized on the security threat that gradually manifesting which will not be in the interest of anyone. He urged the party leaders to ensure settling any rift within the party amicably so as to ensure free, fair and credible election.
Moreover, the APC Chairman, Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, Alhaji Sefiu Ogunyemi assured everyone of the integrity of the Party and promised that every conflict within the Party will be solved amicably.
He further emphasized that the convener of this august meeting meant well for the Igbogbo kingdom due to his audacity of hope to position and project Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA positively. Hence, the king had made history for himself because a forum of this magnitude of gathering different political Parties, Leaders and gladiators has not happened in the history of Igbogbo community.
Chief Adenrele Olowu assumed peaceful process during the electioneering campaign and promised to ensure sanity and transparency at every corner. It was in the same vein that Asipa Kaoli Olusanya sued for peaceful co-existence among contenders and should not see the election as a do or die affair. He equally advised everyone to accept the resolution of the Leaders who will of course honestly chart the course of a new beginning.
Similarly, the articulate legislator, Hon. Nurudeen Sholaja-Saka thanked the Kabiyesi, Chiefs, Leaders and the Party representatives. He charged everyone to unequivocally accept the palace resolution for record purpose and grand legacy for a new beginning in Igbogbo kingdom.
In fact, the valiant and iconic woman of charisma, in person of the Acting Commissioner for Tourism, Art and Culture, Hon Adebimpe Akinsola appreciate all the Leaders there present and affirmed that APC is a peaceful political Party which is determined to uphold peaceful co-existence. She advised confidently that every form of rumour about the Party should be discarded, while enjoining all to abide by the Leaders resolution in Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA.
The former SSG and member of Governor's Advisory Committee, Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun similarly solicited for peaceful conduct among the different political parties. He emphasized that fictitious and blackmails capable enough to trigger violence and to discredit anyone, should be discarded. He also advised the youth to respect their Leaders because someday, they will become grown up and whatever they do now will surely repeat itself as history has a way of repeating itself. In his final submission, he thanked the Kabiyesi for his doggedness and zeal of determining to transform Igbogbo Kingdom.
Without much ado, the Kabiyesi, Oba Abdulsemiu Orimadegun Kasali appreciated everyone there present, he solicited for their cooperation by respecting the opinion of the others, proper management of information within politics, forgiveness and entrenching peace and tranquility, so as to make history for themselves. He anticipated the subsequent meeting to be another historical moment of celebration.
Chief Tajudeen Onasanya gladly gave the vote of thanks which brought the meeting to a closed.
The event was witnessed by prominent personalities, leaders, Party Stalwarts in the likes of: Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun, Asipa Kaoli Olusanya, Chief Adenrele Olowu, Hon. Adebimpe Akinsola, Hon Nurudeen Sholaja, Chief Mrs Bolanle Basorun, Hon Gbenga Oshin, Prince Akeem Awosanya, Prince Jimoh Ogunmuyiwa, Hon Gbenga Basanya and Alhaji Sefiu Ogunyemi.
Other were Comrade Olusesan Daini, Hon Taiwo Orenuga, Hon Bosun Agoro, Mrs Karimot Ojikutu, LGA and Wards Excos, Christian and Muslim Community, among others.
