'I HAVE NO CHOSEN CANDIDATE,' OGUNLEYE TELLS THE PARTY MEMBERS AS TENSION STILL RISE IN IGBOGBO/BAIYEKU LCDA. | Shakiru Seidu

Contrary to the speculations that the former deputy governor, Lagos State, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye that he had endorsed the candidacy of Hon. Wasiu Ayodeji Adesina to be the APC flag bearer in the coming Local Government Election, the elder statesman was on Thursday, 4th of May, 2017, came out publicly to debunk the rumour at the LGA Party Secretariat, Ikorodu.

Prince Ogunleye also reiterated openly that he knew nothing about the choice of Iya Eleyin in following Alhaji R.I. Jinadu. He emphasised that any emerge candidate on the 18th of May will be acceptable by him.

Baba Ogunleye further appealed to all Aspirants not to use his name wrongly. He therefore urged the Party Excos to be fair in selecting credible candidate and endeavour to conduct themselves peacefully.

The six Aspirants in Ikorodu Central, Alhaji Shamsideen Adewale Longe, Comrade Kehinde Okeowo, Hon Wasiu Ayodeji Adesina, Hon Hakeem Babatunde Eleku, Prince Adebanji Gbadebo, Princess Folashade Olabanji-Oba and Alhaji Riliwan Ishola Jinadu were all given five minutes each to showcase their manifestoes before the party.

This move by Prince Abiodun Ogunleye had no doubt quenched the tension among the Aspirants and their followers. This was not the same in Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA where one of the leaders had clearly declared intension for a particular candidate.

The 3 major Aspirants in Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, Hon Bosun Agoro, Hon Taiwo Orenuga and Comrade Olusesan Daini will all go to contest on the 18th of May at the Party primaries.
