EID-EL-FITRI: IGBOGBO MADE HISTORY WITH OBA KASALI. | Shakiru Seidu We must embrace unity and peaceful co-existence. -Imam Andu

All roads led to the Muslim praying ground in Igbogbo on Sunday, 25th of June 2017, where HRM Oba Abdulsemiu Orimadegun Kasali, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo performed this year's Eid-el prayer before being accompanied back to the Palace. What is historical about the event is that, it was the first time the crowned king in Igbogbo will observe Eid-el prayer.

At the Adeboruwa Palace, the Muslim's Spokesman, Fadilat Sheik Shaafi Imoloba, showered unique prayers upon the King and the people of Igbogbo community. He anticipated for more infrastructural development and urged the Kabiyesi and his Chiefs to endeavour to settle rifts and grievances among any aggrieved members of the community in order to promote unity, peace and progress.

The Chief Imam general, Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, Sheik Dhikirulahi Andu Tanimose seized the occasion to release life changing and destiny recovery prayers upon the King and the entire community.

Thereafter, the Odofin of Igbogbo, High Chief Tajudeen Onasanya, eloquently thanked the Muslim community and solicited for further prayers from them to enhance quick development of the community.

Odofin did not hesitate to cite an example of a sign of new development in Igbogbo pointing to the Water Project erected at the Palace of Adeboruwa and the only one in the whole of Lagos State from the federal government.

Regarding the recent Badoo issue which led to an uproar at the Palace, he recalled the remarks made by the newly deployed DPO, Mr Lawal, stating that "He doubted the future of Igbogbo community due to the utterances, non-challant attitudes and lack of respect displayed by the young ones on that fateful day." This was equally reported by the only media print in Igbogbo called Igbogbo/Bayeku Info Magazine.

He affirmed that most of these youths are not from Igbogbo and therefore urged each Parent/Guardian to instill moral discipline in their children/wards because they are the future of the community. "Negative attitude can hinder the progress of the community which can jeopardize our future," he added.

Nevertheless, His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdulsemiu Orimadegun Kasali appreciated everyone there present and ascertained his optimism about the future of Igbogbo community.

Kabiyesi promised to convene the meeting of Stakeholders and all the family heads soonest to discuss relevant issues of the community. In the same vein, he admonished the parents to properly train their children in the fear of God. While also, frowning at any form of jungle justice but for allowance of appropriate security agents to do their lawful duty at any given time. The king did not end his speech without praying for the entire community.
