COMMUNITY IN IGBOGBO/BAIYEKU LCDA INAUGURATES SECONDARY SCHOOL

The Baale, CDA and residents of Lajo community in Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA have putting resources together in having Secondary School in their domain. The School which is named as LAJO COMMUNITY JUNIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL, is temporary located inside Lajo Primary School. They started with the Primary School, which has now been eventually taken over by the Government.

Lajo Community, surrounded by six communities which includes: Lewusu, Otugbuwa, Unity Estate, Okunuga, Igbo-Agbowa and Abuja can not proud of a single Secondary School. This has aggravated the pains of the majority of people in that area, in sending their children to public School in Igbogbo.

In the keynote address given by the CDA Chairman, Mr Qudus Oduntan, he emphasized on the hardship facing by the residents on daily basis, he however called on the Lagos State Government to support the community on the school and particularly Lajo road and the link road from Lajo through Igbo-Agbowa to Igbogbo/Ipakodo road. This is a road that helps people of Offin, Oreta, Okunuga, Lajo, Igbo-Agbowa, Olu-Odo and Abuja communities to access Lagos express road without passing through Igbogbo town, he said.

HRM Oba Semiu Orimadegun Kasali, gave kudos to the Baale of Lajo, Chief Dr. Waliu Oduntan and the entire Lajo community for their uncommon system of community development. He however appeal to the parents to take the education of their children as priority, The Adeboruwa of Igbogbo who was ably represented by Chief Jelili Oduntan, the Balogun of Igbogboland, also used the avenue to thank the Lagos State government for taking up the Lajo primary School.

The Baale of Lajo community, Chief Dr. Waliu Oduntan expressed happiness to Lagos State government, CDA and the people of his community for their cooperation to move the community forward. He further expressed his sincere gratitude to HRM Oba Semiu Orimadegun Kasali for his unimaginable support despite hearing the information lately.

The School will commence activities on Monday, 17th of October, 2016. Over 100 students will be in attendance with quality teachers employed by the community.
Miss Adebayo Janet represented the Sole Administrator, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA at the event.

Mr Adesola Saliu Oduntan gave vote of thanks and closing prayer was observed before various departure.
